You will collaborate with curators and educators, apply evidence-based methods, and leverage multimedia to enhance retention and application of knowledge across programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design, online and blended learning.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms (Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard).
  • Familiarity with state standards (SOL, Common Core) and international standards (PISA).
  • Proficiency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.

Responsibilities

Salary:: $85,000 to $95,000. Depending on Experience

Position Summary

As our Curriculum Developer, you’ll be the architect of learning journeys that truly resonate with our museum’s mission and aligning Ing it with standards of learning. You’ll design, develop, and refine curricula that not only meet educational standards but also spark curiosity and engagement. By leveraging modern Learning Management Systems (LMS) and evidence-based teaching methodologies, you’ll create experiences that help learners retain knowledge, apply skills, and achieve measurable outcomes. Your work will directly shape how thousands of learners interact with and benefit from our programs.

Duties & Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
  • Design and develop curriculum frameworks, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with learning objectives and industry standards.
  • Build and manage interactive courses within our LMS (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard), ensuring seamless navigation and accessibility.
  • Integrate multimedia elements—videos, simulations, gamified activities—into course content to enhance learner engagement.
  • Apply instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, IDM, Project Zero, Visual thinking) and modern teaching methodologies such as flipped classrooms, project-based learning, and macro/microlearning.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and MOTB curators to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and cultural inclusivity.
  • Analyze learner performance data from the LMS to refine and improve course effectiveness, tracking access and keeping communication with subscribers (schools, teachers, students).
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in educational technology and pedagogy, bringing fresh ideas to our programs.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives, creating presentations of the materials, data and what would be needed for the specific audiences.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, deadlines, and design standards.
  • Champion the Museum of the Bible’s mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible.
  • As required, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
What You’ll Bring
  • Education: Degrees in Education: Bachelor or Masters.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design, ideally in both online and blended learning environments.
  • Proficiency with LMS (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard) and familiarity with Board of Education Learning Standards of different states in America (SOL, Common Core) and international learning standards (PISA).
  • Proficiency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish.
  • Strong grasp of adult learning principles and diverse teaching methodologies to help teachers when needed.
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, engaging, and accessible learning materials.
  • Experience with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Padlet) and multimedia integration.
  • Excellent project management skills—able to juggle multiple projects without losing sight of quality.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for making learning impactful and inclusive.
Abilities
  • Ability to stoop, stand, climb, and occasionally lift a minimum of 20 lbs. as required
  • Must be able to adapt and pivot to different duties, work schedules, or events as assigned, in accordance with operational needs and applicable wage and hour requirements.
