You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams across strategy, design, production, and engineering to build scalable, high-quality digital platforms and applications.

Lead Engineers are both strategic and hands‑on technical leaders. You’re comfortable architecting solutions, guiding engineering teams, collaborating directly with clients, and jumping into execution when needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while helping shape engineering standards and best practices across the agency.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the technical architecture, development, and delivery of complex digital projects across multiple client engagements
  • Partner with strategy, design, production, and engineering teams to define technical approaches and delivery plans
  • Serve as a technical lead and point of contact for client stakeholders
  • Build scalable, maintainable, and high‑performing web applications and CMS‑driven platforms
  • Develop proof‑of‑concept solutions and evaluate technical feasibility for integrations and new features
  • Guide engineering standards, code quality, and architectural best practices across projects
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers across the team
  • Assess technical health of active projects and recommend improvements or modernization opportunities
  • Collaborate on project planning, estimation, technical scoping, and delivery strategy
  • Contribute to internal tooling, workflows, and engineering culture initiatives
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve processes and solutions
What You’ll Bring
  • 6–8 years of software or web development experience, ideally within an agency or consulting environment
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript, PHP, and modern front‑end/back‑end frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or Node.js
  • Advanced experience with Drupal and WordPress CMS platforms
  • Deep understanding of Drupal architecture, APIs, custom module development, and theming
  • Strong knowledge of the LAMP stack, including PHP and MySQL
  • Experience building scalable applications, integrations, and API‑driven solutions
  • Experience with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS, Acquia, Pantheon, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Strong understanding of Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment best practices
  • Ability to lead technical decision‑making while remaining hands‑on in execution
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized development environments
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and DevOps practices
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience leading engineering teams or mentoring developers across projects
  • Strong debugging, optimization, and performance‑tuning experience
  • Familiarity with Jira, Workfront, or similar project management tools
