Job summary

Walbec Group in the Midwest is seeking an Operator to run a curb machine and related construction equipment on commercial and industrial sites.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license, be able to pass union requirements, and be flexible with hours; a CDL is desirable. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and the role may require labor when not operating equipment in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a curb machine and related equipment.
• Operate skid steers, backhoes, loaders, dozers, graders, and compactors as needed.
• Maintain on-site safety, cleanliness, and productivity.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, early mornings and weekends.
• Labor on-site when not operating equipment.

The Position:

We're looking for an Operator responsible for operating a Curb Machine along with several other types of construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This equipment may include, but is not limited to skid steers, backhoes, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other pieces of equipment.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

• A Class A CDL is desired but not necessary prior to hire.

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

• Punctual and dependable.

• Experience operating equipment, and the ability to safely and efficiently operate a Curb Machine desired.

• Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.

• Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.

• When not operating equipment, be willing to labor as needed.

• Member of a Local Operators Union, or willingness to become a union member are required. Union membership is not required prior to employment. Our Human Resources Department is available to assist in that process as needed.

• Successfully pass or has passed the Operators Union aptitude test when required.
