SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Curb Machine Operator is responsible for operating specialized curb and gutter machinery to lay concrete for curbs, sidewalks, and road edges in accordance with project plans and specifications. The operator ensures the equipment is functioning properly, and that the finished product meets quality and safety standards.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Operates curb machine to place concrete curbs, gutters, and related structures
• Performs pre-operational checks, adjustments, and minor maintenance on the machine
• Adjusts settings for height, slope, and shape of curbs based on project specs
• Communicates with crew and supervisors to coordinate workflow and ensure safety
• Reports equipment malfunctions or job site issues promptly
  
• Assists with other concrete-related tasks as needed, including setting forms and finishing
• Ensures cleanliness of equipment and job site upon completion of daily tasks
• Loads concrete into machine hopper and monitor consistency during application
• Monitors machine operation to ensure smooth, continuous pouring and alignment
• Follows all company rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, etc.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• Must be at least 18 years of
• Valid drivers license with reliable transportation and punctuality
  
• 2-3+ years of relevant operating experience; preferably with stringline & stringless curb machines
  
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and alignment precision.
  
• Must be able to read blueprints, set and check grades
  
• Must have knowledge of vibrator placement, sensor placement and mold placement
  
• Must have knowledge of string line set up
  
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and meet necessary deadlines

WORK ENVIORMENT

• Outdoor job sites in various weather conditions
• May involve working around heavy equipment and loud noise
• Requires standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy materials for extended periods
• May require overtime or weekend work depending on project deadline
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
