Job summary

Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) seeks a Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs to guide the museum’s exhibitions, collections, and program strategy. You will work with the Director & CEO and senior staff to align content with social impact goals and community voice.

You will lead multi-year planning, budgeting across departments, and cross‑institution initiatives, while supervising about 35 staff and serving as Acting Director when needed.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in a museum setting.
• 7+ years of supervisory experience.
• MA in a relevant field required.

Responsibilities

• Set overarching vision and strategy linking exhibitions and collections.
• Develop content calendar for temporary exhibitions and core gallery presentations.
• Oversee ~35 employees across Collections, Curatorial, Design and Production.
• Lead fundraising, grants, and sponsorship efforts for program priorities.
