Job summary

McWane, Inc. is seeking a Cupola Controller in Tyler, TX to monitor and control cupola furnace operations, ensuring safe and efficient production with strict quality standards.

The role includes performing quality checks, coordinating with operators and maintenance, and maintaining detailed records of chemistry analyses and production data. The position supports 1st and 2nd shifts (3:00 AM–3:00 PM and 3:00 PM–3:00 AM) with pay between $29.75 and $33.67 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience operating a Cupola furnace or similar in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of cupola operations, including chemistry adjustments, slag management, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a hot, noisy, and dusty environment.
• Strong communication and coordination skills to work with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting operational data and chemistry analyses.
• Able to wear PPE and follow safety rules/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and regulate cupola furnace parameters, ensuring optimal production conditions.
• Oversee start-up and shutdown procedures, including tapping, ramming, and bottom-dropping processes.
• Perform inspections of tuyeres, water systems, and furnace components for safe operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues such as freeze-ups, power failures, and slag blockages.
• Maintain detailed production and chemistry records for quality control.
• Coordinate with Cupola Operators, Supervisors, and maintenance teams to schedule work.
