McWane is seeking a Cupola Controller in Tyler, TX, for 1st or 2nd shifts. The role pays $29.75–$33.67 per hour and involves monitoring a cupola furnace, performing quality checks, and coordinating with operators to ensure safe, efficient iron production.

Responsibilities include process start-up/shutdown, chemistry adjustments, and maintaining detailed records. The position requires strong teamwork and adherence to safety standards in a hot, noisy environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of experience operating a Cupola furnace or similar equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of cupola operations, including chemistry adjustments, slag management, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and regulate cupola furnace parameters to maintain optimal production conditions.
• Oversee start-up and shutdown procedures including tapping, ramming, and bottom-dropping processes.
• Coordinate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to schedule inspections and repairs.
• Maintain production logs and record chemistry analyses, temperatures, and production parameters.
• Demonstrate safety by wearing PPE and keeping the work area clean and orderly.
