  • Develop and manage the annual work plan and ensure timely documentation for CUNY Beyond.

  • Oversee the career and academic integration technology ecosystem to support data access and reporting.

POSITION DETAILS

Reporting directly to the Chief Careers and Industry Partnership Officer at Kingsborough Community College, the CUNY Beyond Manager is a critical part of the team responsible for the design and implementation of CUNY Beyond – the signature, CUNY-wide effort to integrate career connections and outcomes into the academic enterprise. CUNY Beyond will fundamentally reshape Kingsborough’s approach to career readiness and the CUNY Beyond Manager will be instrumental to advance the key programmatic activities within the CUNY Beyond initiative. The Manager ensures effective delivery of the overall initiative, including the implementation of CUNY Beyond’s core pillars - Career Exposure & Exploration, Integrated Career Advising, Career Connected Learning, Paid Work-Based Learning and Employer Engagement.

CUNY Beyond will fundamentally reshape Kingsborough’s approach to career readiness and the CUNY Beyond Manager will be instrumental to advance the key programmatic activities within the CUNY Beyond initiative. The Manager ensures effective delivery of the overall initiative, including the implementation of CUNY Beyond’s core pillars - Career Exposure & Exploration, Integrated Career Advising, Career Connected Learning, Paid Work-Based Learning and Employer Engagement.

The Manager will also coordinate cross-departmental operations, including hiring operations, budget administration and fiscal operation, external relations, timely communications and reports to support seamless program delivery. This hire is critical to the success of CUNY Beyond at Kingsborough.

This position is funded for three years. Continuation beyond this period is contingent on program funding.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Partner with college leadership to drive the day-to-day planning, implementation, assessment and continuous improvement of CUNY Beyond at Kingsborough Community College.
  • Build, manage, and strengthen collaborative working relationships with external partners, University partners, Pillar Leads, and campus stakeholders to support successful integration of career and academic initiatives.
  • Align resources—including budgets, staffing, and technology assets—across departments to ensure smooth and timely implementation.
  • Develop and manage the annual work plan, in close coordination with CUNY Central, and ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all required documentation for CUNY Beyond.
  • Collaborate with college and University communications teams to design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance campus-wide awareness, engagement, and participation in CUNY Beyond.
  • Partner with the Provost, Student Affairs, Student Success Programs (ASAP, BMI, and others), Advising, and all student-facing units to ensure strong student/new graduate participation in CUNY Beyond activities and maximum integration into the student experience.
  • Oversee the career and academic integration initiative technology ecosystem, ensuring all platforms and applications are reliable, integrated, and optimized to support data access, reporting, and operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in higher education, public administration, public policy, business administration, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners, including a diverse community of students, faculty, staff and external constituents in a large, complex institution.
  • Progressive professional experience in higher education administration, workforce development, public administration, recruitment, student success, career services, or program management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs or projects, including planning, implementation, resource coordination, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience supervising staff, student workers, or cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, data integrity management, report preparation, and the use of data for operational or strategic decision-making.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, student information systems, or technology platforms that support program operations and reporting.
  • Strong computer proficiency using standard office software programs, in particular Microsoft Office and Excel; Data experience necessary for the position.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, present findings, and facilitate meetings with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy and consistency in work products.
  • Commitment to equity, access, and student success, particularly in support of career-connected learning and experiential education.
Cuny Title Overview

Develops and manages career development programs and services in a College of Unit and assumes a leadership role in the design and delivery of creative approaches to career education and planning.

  • Assists in unit planning, such as setting goals and objectives, and monitors status of progress toward meeting goals
  • Designs and produces outcomes assessment reports; reviews outcomes and feedback and recommends strategies to expand and improve services.
  • Directs a portfolio of targeted career programs, such as mentoring, internship, and alumni programs
  • Manages one or more aspects of career office operations, such as on-campus recruiting
  • Evaluates new technologies, assessment materials, and other career tools, makes recommendations, and acquires/implements them
  • May counsel a limited number of students
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
