Job summary

HDR seeks a Cultural Resources Specialist II in Minnesota. You will perform complex archaeological and historic project work, supervise staff on mid-size projects, and contribute to data compilation, context development, and reporting. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cultural resource projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiar with field study design, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS utilities.
  • Willingness to work under varied weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex assignments, exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard science techniques and procedures for archaeological and historic structure projects.
  • Make decisions on survey data compilation, assessment, analysis within historic contexts, historic context development, and report writing.
  • Function as Technical Specialist, Field Supervisor or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not sole focus of position.
  • Supervise a group of professionals and technicians as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Cultural Resource Specialist II, we’ll count on you to:

  • Function as Technical Specialist, Field Supervisor or Project Manager on mid-size projects as needed, but project management is not sole focus of position

  • Supervise a group of professionals and technicians as needed

  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications


  • Preference given to local candidates and MN and WI area experience

  • Master's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in cultural resource projects

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must demonstrate knowledge of and experience with project compliance-related activities including consultation, quality assurance and reviews

  • Willingness to work under varied weather conditions

  • Successful candidates must be familiar with field study design and documentation, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS utilities

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
