Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) seeks a Cultural GIS Analyst in Indianapolis, IN. You will support the cultural resources practice with GIS data, exhibits, and metadata, working with project managers, scientists, and field staff.

You will gather and analyze spatial data from GPS, imagery, CAD, and SHPO databases, perform analyses, and help maintain ESRI workflows and web apps. Field GPS data collection may also be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography/GIS, Archaeology, or related field.
• 1+ years of professional GIS experience.
• 1+ years in cultural resources or related field.
• Strong data management and map/exhibit creation with Esri ArcGIS Pro.
• Geodatabase creation and geospatial data management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication skills (spoken and written).
• Experience with GPS data collection and ArcGIS Online (Survey123, Field Maps).
• Exposure to scripting/automation tools (Python).
• Experience with SHPO databases.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical/analytical support for cultural resources using GIS.
• Develop GIS data sets and exhibits; manage data across multiple states.
• Assist other disciplines (environmental, ecological, solid waste) as needed.
• Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from GPS, imagery, CAD, SHPO sources.
• Perform spatial analysis and compute environmental impacts.
• Design/update GIS databases and metadata; support ESRI-based workflows and web apps.
• Assist in field GPS data collection and data collection operations.
