Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a part-time Cultural Resources Technician for their Half Moon Bay, California office. The role includes assisting the Field Director with archaeological surveys and construction monitoring while maintaining high professional standards.

The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and possess at least 6 months of experience in cultural resources. This position offers an hourly pay range of $23.18–30.59/hr depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in anthropology, archaeology, history, or a closely related field is required.
• Participation in an accredited field school or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 months - 1 year of professional experience identifying and documenting cultural resources.
• Ability to read and interpret topographical maps and navigate using a compass.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written).
• Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle background screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Archaeological pedestrian surveys and construction monitoring.
• Perform digital photography, utilize electronic data collection tools, and GIS mapping applications.
• Identify cultural materials and communicate resource requirements to construction personnel.
• Maintain written daily survey logs and provide updates to project management.
