Job summary

Stantec in Michigan is seeking an experienced Archaeologist to join our cultural resources team. You will support proposal development and regulatory compliance while coordinating cultural resource investigations across utilities, transportation, and energy sectors.

Based in one of our Michigan offices (Ann Arbor, Brighton, Farmington Hills, Lansing, or Metro Detroit) with travel as needed, this role requires fieldwork, data collection, and collaboration with SHPO/THPO and clients to deliver

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in anthropology/archaeology or related discipline.
• Completion of an archaeological field school and at least 5 years CRM experience as an archaeologist.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cultural resource project management, particularly in the Upper Midwest.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write technical proposals, including scope development, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Navigate permitting processes and provide guidance on regulatory compliance requirements.
• Under the direction of the Senior Archaeologist, coordinate cultural resource investigations across various sectors, including utilities, transportation, renewable energy, and local government projects.
• Participate in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) initiatives.
