Salary: $54,101.84 - $56,452.28

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, emphasizing flexibility, quality, and member-driven services that promote independence and community engagement.

The role reports to the Cultural Competency and Language Accessibility Unit and involves compiling data for cultural plans, serving as a subject matter expert for vendor reviews, collaborating on grievance reporting processes, ensuring website and social media content are linguistically appropriate, and conducting quarterly audits of language vendors.

Applicants must not be licensed or certified by the DES Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, nor have familial interests in Qualified Vendor Agreements or employment/subcontracting with vendors.

This position may offer remote work options within Arizona based on department needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile data and narratives for cultural and language access plans and LEP reports.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for vendor readiness reviews and educate vendors on cultural and language plans.
  • Attend meetings and conduct quarterly audits of interpreting and translation services.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and review materials and reports.
  • Support the accuracy and linguistic appropriateness of DDD’s public-facing websites and social media.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency with Google Suite tools.
  • Understanding of CLAS standards, ADA, Medicaid, and related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of systems of care, community supports, and culturally relevant services.
Skills
  • Microsoft Office, conflict resolution, coaching, cross-cultural communication.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Abilities
  • Work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.
  • Be flexible, creative, assertive, and capable of multitasking.
  • Provide leadership, plan, organize, and manage time efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in diversity, healthcare, and bilingual skills preferred.
