Job summary

Outrigger Resorts & Hotels in Kailua, HI seeks a Hawaiian Culture Advisor to research local history, prepare cultural materials, and deliver engaging activities for guests and staff. You will embody the Outrigger Way and Ke `Ano Wa'a, supporting the aloha spirit across shifts and teams.

Responsibilities include knowledgeable storytelling about Kona’s cultural heritage and collaboration with the team to ensure authentic experiences for guests, with opportunities for growth within the Outrigger

Qualifications

• The Hawaiian Culture Advisor researches and studies information, prepares tools and materials, and delivers Hawaiian cultural activities.
• Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and history specific to Keauhou Ahupua`a, Hawaiian Monarchy, and Kona stories.

Responsibilities

• Exemplifies the image of “Aloha” while assisting guests in accordance with Outrigger policies and procedures.
• Researches and delivers Hawaiian cultural activities and related materials.

Job Duties

• Exemplifies the image of “Aloha” while assisting guests in accordance with Outrigger policies and procedures.
• The Hawaiian Culture Advisor is responsible for researching and studying information, preparing tools and materials, delivering Hawaiian cultural activities, and cleaning up.
• Responsible for having knowledge and understanding of Hawaiian culture and history, specific to Keauhou Ahupua'a (district), Hawaiian Monarchy, and stories of Kona, HI.
• Must embrace Ke `Ano Wa'a - The Outrigger Way, Essential incorporate Outrigger's 4 Keys to Creating Guests for Life Must be able to work flexible days and shifts and have a strong service oriented attitude and able to work well with others.
