Job summary
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) School Nutrition is seeking an experienced Culinary Specialist to provide technical assistance on culinary applications for school nutrition programs across the state. The role may supervise certain program duties, and plans and organizes activities to meet School Nutrition objectives.
Preferred candidates hold advanced degrees in education or culinary fields, possess culinary certifications, and have experience teaching and presenting training both in
Qualifications
- Master's degree in education or a related field plus five years of related experience (as specified).
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field plus seven years of related experience (as specified).
- Associate’s degree in culinary arts or related field with 10 years of related experience (as specified).
Responsibilities
- Provide high level support for culinary project development and implementation.
- Train school nutrition professionals on culinary applications in person and virtually.
- Present information clearly, demonstrate procedures, and respond to questions.
- Review and update training content for consistency and standards.
- Assist with school nutrition culinary programs for students and with related data and inquiries.
- Coordinate training and technical assistance for school nutrition programs.
- Attend meetings and participate in professional development.
- Note: statewide travel is required.
