Job summary

HHS is hiring at Bon Secours Mercy Health Springfield Hospital to join the culinary team and support the culinary director in leading the food and nutrition operation. You will ensure patient meals are accurate and delivered in a timely fashion while delivering excellent service to patients and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising team members, ensuring meals meet orders and diet requirements, maintaining health and safety standards, and assisting leadership to run the department

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment.
• Preferred: 6+ months of supervisor experience in culinary or foodservice roles.

Job Description

We’re looking for friendly, compassionate, team players to join our culinary team!

Support the culinary director to lead the food and nutrition team at a hospital. Ensure patient meals are accurate and are delivered in a timely fashion. Provide excellent customer service to ensure every patient is satisfied with their meal.

Responsibilities

• Supervisor team members to ensure smooth operations of the criteria, doctor’s dining, catering, and/or patient meals
• Ensure each patient receives an accurate meal that matches their order and diet requirements
• Provide excellent customer service for all patients, staff, and visitors
• Adhere to the facility’s health and safety policies and procedures
• Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old
• Must practice good personal hygiene and be neatly groomed in a uniform
• Communicate effectively in English and work well in a team environment
• Preferred: 6+ months of supervisor experience (cook, line cook, commercial kitchen, fast food, culinary operations, restaurants, supervisor, dietary department, foodservice, hourly manager, healthcare)

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing and walking continuously, frequent stooping, and bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
