Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge in Charlottesville is seeking a Cook 2 to join a premier culinary team. The position offers growth potential and a strong work/life balance with diverse venues including fine dining, bistro pub, and coffee shop.

You will work with minimal supervision, contribute to menu changes, and help maintain high quality. Starting pay ranges from $17.30 to $22.52 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or professional culinary program.
• Knowledge of methods, materials, and practices of food preparation.
• Ability to use standard food preparation utensils.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Two years of experience in commercial, institutional, or related volume food preparation.
• ServSafe Certification – preferred (can acquire on site)
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assists with job training for new associates to teach cooking skills and ensure safety and sanitary standards.
• Prepares and directs preparation of regular and special diet foods according to menus and recipes.
• Review production sheets and event sheets to prepare items for menus and events.
• Checks quality of MEP for area and all cook I in assigned area to ensure products meet standards.
