Job summary

MSU Careers seeks a Shaw Culinary Platform Attendant to organize, prepare, and supply foods for salad bars and hot/cold stations in Shaw Hall. You will assist cooks by combining ingredients, portioning, and serving from prepared to-order, while maintaining proper food handling practices for continuous service.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma, 1 year of full-time food prep, knowledge of kitchen safety, ability to read weights and measurements, and the ability to lift 26–75

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of full-time food preparation experience.
• Knowledge of kitchen safety practices and proper food handling.
• Ability to read weights and measures and weigh ingredients accurately.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for portions and recipes.
• Experience with a variety of cooking methods and proper knife use.
• Ability and stamina to lift 26–75 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

• Organize, prepare, and supply items for salad bars and stations.
• Assist cooks by portioning ingredients and producing ready-to-serve items.
• Serve food to customers and maintain cleanliness and safety.
