Job summary

Northgate Gonzalez Market is seeking a Cook for the Costa Mesa location. You will cook, prep, and fry products from Northgate’s recipe library, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to sanitation standards.

You will follow health regulations, rotate stock per FIFO, assist customers, and contribute to a clean, organized kitchen. A High School diploma is preferred and at least one year in a similar role with a Food Safety Handling certificate is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred but not absolutely required.
• Minimum of one year experience in overall department operations or participation in a management training program.
• Food Safety Handling certificate required.
• Must have sufficient math skills to understand measurements and prices.
• Ability to hear, speak and understand English to respond to requests and communicate.
• Ability to read, write, interpret and understand English documents and policies.

Responsibilities

• Produce food according to Northgate recipes.
• Follow production recipes and standards.
• Plan daily production using production lists and planning data.
• Rotate, label and date products following FIFO rules.
• Maintain inventory controls and display organization.
• Provide rapid and friendly service and assist customer lines.
• Ensure product quality and assist with upsell and customer suggestions.
• Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with coworkers.
