Job summary

Compass Group USA, through Levy, is seeking a part-time team member to maintain front-of-house cleanliness and sanitation across all service areas in Chicago venues. Responsibilities include busing and clearing tables, safely transporting dishes, washing and sanitizing cookware, and assisting with deliveries while adhering to HACCP standards.

The role emphasizes proper presentation, portion control, and maintaining serving temperatures to ensure high-quality guest experiences in active service

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining front-of-house sanitation and cleanliness.
• Ability to follow safety procedures when transporting dishes and utensils.
• Understanding of HACCP standards and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of front of house (tables, counters, floors, windows, beverage station).
• Busses, clears, and cleans tables during peak service; preps before service.
• Transports dishes safely between front of house and kitchen using trays or carts.
• Washes dishes and cleans cooking stations to ensure smooth service flow.
• Receives deliveries and moves supplies to storage with safe lifting.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures.

Summary

Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the front of the house, including all tables, counters, floors, windows and beverage station.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures tables are bussed, cleared and cleaned and floors are cleared and swept during peak service times and are prepped prior to service.
• Follows safety procedures when transporting dishes and utensils from the front of the house to the kitchen area using trays, bus tubs or carts.
• Washes dishes, glasses and pots; cleans cooking stations and equipment to expedite a smooth flow of service while maintaining sanitation standards.
• Scrapes and rinses food from dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine depending on assigned equipment. Ensures complete cleanliness and sanitation.
• Keeps display equipment clean, free of debris and in compliance with all safety and sanitation standards during meal service.
• Helps receive heavy deliveries from dock and transports them to assigned storage areas while observing all safe lifting standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
• Personal commitment to your own safety and that of others.
• Abides by all Company policies and procedures including but not limited to:
  • The use of a medium weight cut gloves when handling or using knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
  • The use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans from ovens, warmers or steamtables.
  • The use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
