Job description

Purpose

The Culinary Manager oversees the entire back-of-house operation, including menu execution, quality control, cost management, and kitchen condition.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform daily line checks and safety walk-throughs.
  2. Manage food budget and control food and labor costs.
  3. Review sub-standard food with the BOH team.
  4. Review supplier prices monthly.
  5. Monitor and minimize food waste.
  6. Maintain smooth kitchen operations and stock levels.
  7. Create a trustful and respectful environment.
  8. Manage team lifecycle: hiring, training, coaching, and terminations.
  9. Ensure high standards of food quality, guest service, and consistency.
  10. Manage staffing levels and costs to align with budget.
  11. Complete nightly logs and reports.
  12. Maintain inventory controls.
  13. Ensure menu and allergen information is current.
  14. Build guest loyalty and handle complaints.
  15. Comply with safety, health, and liquor laws.
  16. Maintain safety and sanitation standards.
  17. Oversee checkout procedures.
  18. Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s in Culinary Arts preferred.
  2. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S.
  3. Valid driver’s license and 21+ years of age.
  4. State work cards or ability to obtain them.
  5. 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office, Open Table, Outlook.
  7. Knowledge of profitability, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, and inventory management.
  8. Understanding of labor and health laws.
  9. Experience with POS and reporting systems.
  10. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  11. Effective communication skills in English.
Working Conditions
