Job summary

Ridgewells, the exclusive caterer for the US Open, is seeking an Executive Chef in Bethesda, MD to lead culinary operations for the Major Events Division. You will manage kitchen staff, direct menu development, and ensure high standards of sanitation and service for on-site catering.

The role requires a culinary arts degree with at least five years of management experience, travel readiness for major events, and strong leadership, communication, and budgeting skills.

Qualifications

• Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training institute.
• At least five (5) years of proven management record.
• Results-oriented with the ability to plan and achieve goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication and employee relations skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Strong culinary background and knowledge.
• Proficient with computer applications.
• Travel for this position is required, including US Open-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintains recipe standards to ensure food is produced to specifications.
• Schedules kitchen staff and temporary workers per forecasts and budgets.
• Oversee productivity to maximize efficiency and meet labor budgets.
• Review and maintain payroll records for submission to payroll.
• Maintain food costs as per management budget.
• Assist with menu tastings and menu development on site.
• Owns inventory control and on-site food production and finishing.
• Ensure sanitation standards and HAACP plans are followed.
• Hands-on chef duties when needed and train on-site staff.
• Oversee budgeting, payroll, and food cost control for assigned accounts.
