Job summary

Highlands Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Culinary Cook to prepare nutritious meals per physician orders, ensuring safe handling and proper temperatures. The cook will support efficient food production under the Director of Nutrition and Food Services and participate in quality assurance.

Responsibilities include portioning meals, monitoring thawing and storage, following daily menus, cleaning schedules, and documenting temperatures while communicating with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in large quantity food preparation preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and serve using portion control directives.
• Ensure proper thawing, storage and safety of all foods.
• Follow recipes and assist with monthly inventories.
• Maintain cleaning schedule and sanitize equipment after use.
• Record temperatures and document daily cooler/freezer readings.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
