Job Title: Culinary Cook 1

Job Pay Range: $19.13/hr

Job Summary:

As a member of the culinary team, the position of Culinary Cook 1 is a lead culinarian position. The Cook 1 is responsible for preparing all dishes according to the menu and recipe specifications. Individuals will uphold the standards regarding safety, sanitation, product freshness, and overall product execution. They will follow standardized recipes and assist with all production. Positions are available within our Banquets and Restaurant areas covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner service. Work includes assisting the Chef in planning and executing meal service while following the overall direction of the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef to maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following while other duties may be assigned:

  • Prepares hot and cold food as specified in areas working in.
  • Prepares food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary work area following safety guidelines.
  • Assists the chef with maintaining the kitchen and keeping staff on task.
  • Prepares all menu items in assigned area daily, including hot and cold food.
  • Understands and adjusts recipes according to business levels.
  • Assists with the organization of product, equipment, and necessary paperwork.
  • Follows portion control, presentation of food, consistency, and flavor as determined by the culinary department.
  • Checks coolers for proper rotation of food items to prevent spoilage.
  • Maintains Serv Safe and health department standards.
  • Completes mise en place and pars to set up the station.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works cohesively as part of a team.
  • Focuses attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous.
  • Upholds and abides by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Takes required breaks, notifying the supervisor prior to leaving the station.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D with 2 years of preferred culinary experience.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift/pull/push up to 50 pounds and work in conditions that are both inside and outside at times.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
