Job summary

PreK-High School Culinary Arts in Garden City, NY seeks a passionate Baking Teacher to lead baking and pastry arts across PreK–High School.

You will deliver engaging lessons, ensure food safety, and foster creativity while building foundational culinary skills in students of varied ages.

Experience in baking and teaching, strong classroom management, and ServSafe or Food Handler certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related culinary field.
• Prior teaching or instructional experience, preferably in a K-12 or culinary education setting.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food science fundamentals.

• Plan and deliver engaging baking and pastry arts lessons tailored to PreK through High School students.
• Teach foundational and advanced baking techniques including bread making, cake decorating, and pastry preparation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized culinary classroom and kitchen environment.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through hands-on baking projects and demonstrations.
• Develop age-appropriate curriculum aligned with culinary arts education standards.
• Introduce students to food safety, sanitation, and proper kitchen equipment usage.
• Foster creativity, teamwork, and a love of culinary arts in students of all ages.

Requirements:

• Food Handler's Certification or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
