Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife is seeking staff for its decentralized dining program to deliver high-quality customer service in a healthcare dining setting. You will transport meals, assist with meal prep and serving, and help ensure food is presented attractively and at proper temperatures.

Must have a High School degree or equivalent and obtain a Food Handler certification within 6 months of starting. Healthcare food service experience is preferred, with options for on-site dining operations across our

Responsibilities

  • Provides outstanding customer service to all who utilize the dining program.
  • Transports food and non-food items to and from unit kitchens as directed.
  • Prepares and serves food per established recipes with proper portion control.
  • Maintains proper food temperatures and attractive presentation.
  • Conducts pre-meal briefings with care team on meal offerings.
  • Ensures kosher regulations are followed on kosher units.
  • Keeps work areas, storage, utensils, and equipment clean and sanitized per regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Provides outstanding customer service to all who utilize the service of the decentralized dining program.
  • Transports food and non-food items to and from assigned unit kitchens as directed.
  • Ensures that all food is properly served according to the established recipes, utilizing proper portion control.
  • Ensures all foods are held and served at proper temperatures and are attractively presented.
  • Conducts pre-meal meeting with care team to ensure they understand the meal’s menu offerings.
  • Ensures that all Kosher regulations are understood and followed on kosher units.
  • Ensure that all work areas, storage areas, utensils and equipment are cleaned, sanitized and maintained in an orderly fashion according to the latest regulatory (State, Federal and Kosher) requirements.
Qualifications
  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • Food Handler aware certification required or obtained within 6 months of starting the position.
  • At least one year in a quality food service operation in a healthcare setting preferred.

Remote Type: Salary Range: $15.26 - $21.37
