Job summary

Eventide Jamestown Care Center in Jamestown, ND is seeking a Culinary Assistant / Server to join our full-time team. The role offers 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. shifts, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

You will serve meals to residents under sanitary guidelines, coordinate with Nutrition and Culinary Services, and help with cleaning, food prep, and daily operations to ensure timely, respectful service.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service is preferred but not required.
• Must maintain sanitary handling of food and dishes.
• Ability to coordinate with Nutrition and Culinary Services to meet meal times.

Responsibilities

• Offer and serve menu choices cheerfully and respectfully.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, tables, equipment, and utensils.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and hygienically.
• Prepare menu items as directed by the Nutrition/Culinary Director.
• Monitor items to ensure proper preparation and labeling.
• Store leftovers per food handling standards.
• Organize work schedule to meet serving times.
• Assist with vendor deliveries and storage of items.

Description

Eventide Jamestown Care Center in Jamestown, ND is seeking a Culinary Assistant / Server to work full time, 1130a-8p. Includes every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The Culinary Assistant / Server provides meal service to residents/tenants under sanitary conditions and in a respectful, timely manner by communicating, coordinating, and cooperating with others to carry out the operations of the Nutrition and Culinary Services department.

Essential Functions

• Offers and serves menu choices to residents in a cheerful and respectful manner.
• Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all dishes, tables, equipment, utensils, and containers used to provide meals as well as other assigned cleaning duties.
• Operates equipment in a proper, safe, sanitary, and respectful manner.
• Prepares various menu items as assigned by the Nutrition and Culinary Director (Coordinator) and/or Culinary Cook.
• Monitors daily menu items in order to verify that all necessary items are prepared and labeled.
• Stores leftovers appropriately according to food handling standards.
• Organizes and plans work schedule to meet times for serving.
• Operates dish machine according to directions. Pre-soaks and sorts dishes and utensils.
• Assists in accepting vendor deliveries and storing items in the proper areas.

Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in food service is preferred, but not required.

Compensation

At Eventide, we value our employees and offer a competitive starting pay range of $16-17.92 for Culinary Assistants per hour based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available, for select positions, paid on employment status and shift worked.
