Job Type: Part-Time, with weekday, weekend, and evening shifts available

Pay Rate: Starting at $14.00 per hour, depending on experience

Summary:

As a Culinary Assistant, you will help enhance the lives of older adults by assisting them with patience and a friendly attitude. Your responsibilities include performing table service in a caring, professional, and timely manner.

The role also involves assisting residents with dining needs, setting up and cleaning the dining area, and maintaining high hospitality standards. Teamwork and collaboration are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in food preparation according to the menu.
  2. Follow sanitation, safety, and cleaning procedures.
  3. Wash and store dishes properly.
  4. Serve and assist residents during meals.
  5. Clean kitchen and food service areas daily.
  6. Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents.
  7. Perform general cleaning duties as scheduled.
  8. Support a dignified and caring atmosphere.
  9. Respond promptly to residents’ and families’ requests.
  10. Communicate effectively with residents in their preferred language.
  11. Maintain safety and report hazards immediately.
  12. Practice good body mechanics and safety habits.
  13. Follow emergency procedures as outlined.
  14. Work collaboratively with staff and management.
  15. Maintain a positive attitude towards work and residents.
  16. Adhere to attendance policies.
  17. Participate in training and meetings.
  18. Wear appropriate and clean attire per dress code.
  19. Refer resident care inquiries to supervisors.
  20. Follow HIPAA regulations.
  21. Assist in training new employees when needed.
  22. Take initiative and suggest improvements.
  23. Handle additional projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in basic instructions and small group settings.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems involving straightforward variables.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED preferred; less than one year of related experience or training acceptable; or equivalent combination.

Physical Demands:

Regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, and communicate. Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit and climb. Must occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
