Job summary

Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living Center in Michigan is seeking a part-time Culinary Aide to support kitchen operations with food prep, service and cleaning. The role helps create a positive dining experience for residents during evening shifts (4p–7p).

• Minimum age 15 years.
• Must be able to pass state-mandated background screening and pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals respectfully and according to service standards.
• Inform residents of meal options and offer alternatives.
• Assist with tray service and ensure timely return of dishes to the kitchen.
• Monitor uneaten food and communicate concerns.
• Assist with food prep (wash, chop, portion, measure).
• Support cooks as directed.
• Receive and store deliveries properly.
• Use equipment safely and report issues.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen areas.
• Clean dining room and service areas after meals.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain overall kitchen cleanliness.
• Follow all food safety and infection control protocols.
