Job summary

Serrato Corporation in Marion, VA seeks a Transitional/Placement Specialist to provide placement and follow-up services to former enrollees in line with government directives. You will be the main contact for graduates and coordinate referrals to off-center placement specialists and community agencies.

You will contact employers and one-stop centers, arrange interviews, and document progress in the case management system.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate, counsel, and support students.
• Experience in job corps outreach or youth development programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the principal point of contact for graduates and former enrollees during transition, placement and follow-up as appropriate.

• Maintain regular contact with career development specialists and career technical training instructors on center.
• Work closely with department staff to gather information and maintain open communication with workforce development centers throughout the state (in which the center is operating).
• Produce and distribute placement and follow-up reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

Two years related experience. Experience may include successful Job Corps outreach and admissions experience or successful outreach and admissions experience with other youth development programs.

Education

Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field; or Associate's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, communications, or closely related field, and two years related experience.
