Job summary

Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Greenville is seeking a Recreational Therapist / CTRS to plan, implement, and oversee medically approved therapeutic activities for patients within the facility. You will support psychosocial, emotional, and functional well‑being through structured programming, including leisure, social, cognitive, and creative activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy or related field with CTRS preferred.
• CTRS certification required or per state regulations for Activity Therapy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Music with applicable therapeutic experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of recreational therapy services including assessments and treatment planning.
• Deliver therapy services independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Plan, coordinate, and assist with scheduling therapeutic activities.
• Lead and participate in group and individual activities.
• Observe participation and engagement during sessions; track progress and document goals.
• Document group participation per facility and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct individual and family sessions at least twice monthly.
• Meet with patients and psychiatrists monthly for medication management support as needed.
