Southeast Behavioral Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to plan and implement activity services as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. You will provide patient care, observation and role modeling to support treatment goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's in Recreation Therapy, one year of related psychiatric experience, and Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Certification, plus CPR and Handle with Care training.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Recreation Therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: One year of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques.
• Licensure: Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Certification.
• Additional Requirements: CPR Certification and Handle with Care; comply with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation Therapy.

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure:.Therapeutic Recreation Specialist Certification required.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification and successful completion of Handle with Care. Completion of all daily job functions and compliance with all regulatory standards.
