Job summary

USA Tech Recruit is seeking a hands-on CTO to own technical strategy, architecture, and hiring across product engineering, infrastructure, and applied AI. This builder-first leader will shape direction, grow the team, and stay hands-on enough to catch issues before they cost more to fix.

You'll move between big-picture decisions and code-level dives, collaborating with founders, customers, and research. It’s not about distant leadership; you must understand what’s being built and why.

Qualifications

• Experience building and scaling real-world software systems.
• Broad technical range across backend, cloud, data, AI/ML.
• Proven ability to run engineering teams in early-stage environments.
• Sound judgment on architecture, debt, hiring, and sequencing.

Responsibilities

• Shape the platform architecture and turn prototypes into production-grade systems.
• Grow and lead the engineering function from core infra to AI integration.
• Set standards for quality, testing, security, and uptime.
• Decide what to build vs buy, translating user and research input into a roadmap.
• Own data handling, security, and operating maturity for larger customers.
• Serve as the technical face of the company to customers, partners, and investors.
