Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Assembler for the Sanford, FL facility on the 3rd shift (Sun night–Fri morning). Starting pay is $19.44/hr with an 8% premium; the posted range is $18.00–$22.40 per hour, inclusive of benefits eligibility from Day ONE.

You will follow procedures, apply lean concepts, use hand/power tools, and complete standard work within cycle times. The role also supports cross-training across production areas.

Qualifications

• Basic requirements include 6 months of work experience and ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Willingness to perform repetitive operations and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Experience using hand and power tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow documented procedures to assemble and adjust parts safely and defect‑free.
• Use lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.
• Operate industrial power tools to assemble components and lift devices.
• Complete standard work within the cycle time (about 3–15 minutes).
• Cross-train across work areas and learn new tasks.

Shift Schedule:

• 3rd Shift: Sunday night-Friday morning 10:15 pm – 6:15 am (Boone Trail)


• 3rd Shift Starting Pay: $19.44 hour (includes 8% premium)

As an Assembler at Caterpillar you will:

• Follow documented procedures to perform safe anddefect-free assembly and adjustment of parts and components.


• Leverage lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.


• Use industrial power tools for assembly and lifting devices to move heavy components.


• Be held accountable for completing standard work within the allotted cycle time (approximately 3–15-minute cycle time).


• Cross-train across work areas and ability to learn new work areas.

Basic Requirements:

• 6 months of previous work experience


• Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods


• Willing and able to perform repetitive operations


• Willing and able to lift to 35 lbs.

Top Candidates will also have:

• Prior experience with hand tools or power tools


• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment


• Heavy equipment machine assembly experience


• Previous work experience operating an electric hoist to lift more than 35 lbs.


• Proven track record of good attendance and work history.

Summary Pay Range:

$18.00 - $22.40
