Job summary

Caterpillar in Sanford, NC seeks an Assembler to perform safe, defect-free assembly of parts using documented procedures and lean manufacturing principles. You will be responsible for standard work cycles and may cross-train across areas to learn new tasks.

The role offers 1st and 3rd shifts with competitive wages, Day ONE benefits, paid training, and a quarterly bonus potential. Prior manufacturing experience and tool use are valued.

Qualifications

• 6 months of previous work experience.
• Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Willing and able to perform repetitive operations.
• Willing and able to lift to 35 lbs.

• Follow documented procedures to perform safe and defect-free assembly and adjustment of parts and components.
• Leverage lean manufacturing concepts to support continuous improvement and waste elimination.
• Use industrial power tools for assembly and lifting devices to move heavy components.
• Be held accountable for completing standard work within the allotted cycle time (approximately 3–15-minute cycle time).
• Cross-train across work areas and ability to learn new work areas.

We are looking for candidates that want to build a career. This is a rare opportunity to join the Caterpillar Sanford team as a direct hire. Position includes a wage of $18.00/hour (+8% shift premium for 3rd shift - $19.44/hour), quarterly goal sharing program and a comprehensive benefit program.

Shift Schedule:

1st Shift: Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:00 pm/ Monday - Thursday 6:30 am - 4:30 pm

3rd Shift: Monday -Thursday 7:00 pm - 5:00 am/ Monday - Thursday 7:30 pm – 5:30 am

Training Schedule: Will train on 1st shift for up to 2 weeks

Monday- Thursday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

As an Assembler at Caterpillar you will:

Basic Requirements:

• 6 months of previous work experience
• Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
• Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
• Willing and able to lift to 35 lbs.

Top Candidates will also have:

• Prior experience with hand tools or power tools
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
• Heavy equipment machine assembly experience
• Previous work experience operating an electric hoist to lift more than 35 lbs.
• Proven track record of good attendance and work history.

Summary Pay Range:

$18.00 - $22.40
