Job summary

Qualifications

  • Supervise students to ensure participation and motivation.
  • Maintain safe, clean environments meeting OEM standards.
  • Prepare and deliver activity reports; manage travel and delivery expenses.

Overview

Pay grade: $90,000 - $92,000


The instructor provides manufacturer specific technical courses to third party personnel at various locations. In this role, the instructor provides coaching, technical expertise, and encouragement while creating structured opportunities for dealer personnel and students to develop their own proficiency. The position collaborates closely with the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) on curriculum updates and participates in periodic Train-the-Trainer events.


Responsibilities


  • Organize, communicate, and deliver learning objectives in a clear, concise manner through well-paced lessons ensuring appropriate classroom and lab content

  • Test and evaluate student performance

  • Provide counseling and guidance to at‑risk students using proper documentation

  • Maintain regular contact with UTI and OEM leadership to coordinate training, staffing, vehicles and equipment

  • Support the recruitment and placement of students to MSAT programs

  • Participate in the development of curriculum from original equipment manufacturer products and service manuals (supports the development of lesson plans, visual materials, evaluations, practical applications and demonstrations)

  • Deliver prepared curriculum through multimedia techniques

  • Supervise students in classroom and labs to ensure participation and motivation

  • Facilitate a neat, orderly, controlled and safe environment meeting the expectations and brand standards of the OEM

  • Create and deliver periods activity reports

  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for travel and course delivery expenses

  • Adhere to all the guidelines of the OEM Corporate Travel Policy

  • Other duties as assigned

    • Use fine motor skills to operate personal computers, manual and electrical (dental, automotive, mechanical, nursing, etc.) equipment, as well as various diagnostic or procedure equipment


  • Rarely (less than 20% of workday)


    • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with the assistance of mechanical interventions, students, or other employees

    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to provide instruction in labs and demonstrate procedures


  • Rarely (less than 20% of workday)


    • Use hearing and sight (both near and far vision) to operate a motor vehicle

    • Safely drive either a personally owned, or company, vehicle

    • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment when on site at assigned company location. Employees must be able to safely ambulate when on company premises.

    • This position is designated as On Campus or On site; Work environments may include exposure to student learning environments with a variety of conditions. Employees must be able to follow all safety precautions including the use of personal-protective equipment. Employees must also be able to adhere to site-specific safety procedures.

    • Overnight and/or Local travel required (up to 20%)


    Qualifications


    • High school diploma or GED (required)

    • Technical Education or Manufacturer sponsored training program (preferred)

    • Five (5) years' experience as a manufacturer specific technician or fully qualified manufacturer specific instructor (preferred)

    • Expertise in the area of assignment that demonstrates the skills needed to provide instruction

    • Design and deliver engaging educational content, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles

    • Build rapport with students, clinical partners, and colleagues, fostering a positive learning environment

    • Flexibility to stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practices

    • Competence in evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective instruction and interaction with students and colleagues
