Free Geek Twin Cities is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to digital inclusion, reuse, and responsible recycling. Free Geek Twin Cities is dedicated to reducing electronic waste by refurbishing and recycling technology, making technology accessible, and promoting digital literacy. Through our work, we divert thousands of pounds of e-waste from landfills each year (In 2025 - 100 tons recycled & connected 52,000 items+ with reuse homes), provide low-cost and free technology to those in need (1,300 free laptops distributed), and educate the community on the environmental impact of electronics waste. We serve individuals in greater North and South Minneapolis, including low-income households, seniors, adults with disabilities, and members of underserved racial and ethnic communities (especially Spanish and Somali). Many residents face persistent barriers to digital participation, including limited access to affordable devices, insufficient digital literacy skills, and lack of technical support needed to fully engage in education, employment, healthcare, and civic life. Many of the people we serve rely on second-hand technology, making technology reuse an essential part of environmental justice. CTEP complies with federal and state disability laws and makes reasonable accommodations for applicants and candidates with disabilities to participate in the CTEP application and interview process. If you would like to request an accommodation, please contact Allison Williams, CTEP Program Director at williams@spnn.org This program is available to all, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, religion, age, national origin, genetic information, disability, military status, familial status, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by law.
