Qualifications

  • Minimum associate degree in Graphic Arts/Graphic Design or related field, or industry certification.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Knowledge of design principles and digital media production.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Alternatives to qualifications may be required by the Board.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes and follows the Limestone County School Continua of Skills.
  • Plans, prepares and delivers instructional activities.
  • Develops schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Establishes clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Manages classroom safety and discipline.
  • Maintains accurate records and submits required reports.
  • Participates in department and school meetings and communicates with students/parents.

Job Goals:

1. To provide an educational atmosphere in which student will move toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growthandmaturationinaccordancewithDistrictphilosophy,goals,andobjectives.

Qualifications:
  • 1. CompletedapplicationthroughTeachinAlabama.
  • 2. ValidAlabamateachingcertificateoreligibilitytoobtainoneinTechnical Education – Graphic Arts.
  • 3. Minimum of an associate's degree in Graphic Arts, Graphic Design, or a related field OR industry certification(s) in graphic design (e.g., Adobe Certified ProfessionalinInDesign,Photoshop,Illustrator,orVisualDesign)ORequivalent military experience OR one of the master-level occupational proficiencies approved by the state.
  • 4. Experience in industry-related software such as Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • 5. Knowledgeofdesignprinciples,digitalmediaproduction,andindustrybest practices.
  • 6. Commitmenttoongoingprofessionaldevelopmentandcompletionof state-recognized professional learning (as required).
  • 7. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • 1. UtilizesandfollowsthestatecourseofstudyandtheLimestoneCountySchool Continua of Skills.
  • 2. Performsreliablyanddependablywithagoodrecordofattendance,punctuality, flexibility and time management.
  • 3. Plan,prepareanddeliverinstructionalactivitiesthatfacilitateactivelearning experiences.
  • 4. Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • 5. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • 6. Prepare classroom for class activities.
  • 7. Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • 8. Identifyandselectdifferentinstructionalresourcesandmethodstomeetstudents' varying needs.
  • 9. Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • 10. Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  • 11. Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
  • 12. Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assignments.
  • 13. Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • 14. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
  • 15. Maintains,updatesandsubmitsallnecessaryrecordsaccuratelyandcompletelyas required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
  • 16. Prepare required reports on students and activities.
  • 17. Managestudentbehaviorintheclassroombyestablishingandenforcing rules and procedures.
  • 18. Maintaindisciplineinaccordancewiththerulesanddisciplinarysystems of the school.
  • 19. Applyappropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
  • 20. Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings.
  • 21. Communicatenecessaryinformationregularlytostudents,colleaguesandparents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • 22. Keepuptodatewithdevelopmentsinsubjectarea,teachingresourcesand methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • 23. Adherestoschoolsystemrules,administrativeprocedures,localboardpolicy,and state and federal rules and regulations.
  • 24. Engagesinpersonalprofessionalgrowthanddemonstratesprofessional ethics and leadership.
  • 25. Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to finger, to handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, squat, crouch and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific visionabilitiesrequiredbythisjobincludenearvision,distancevision,peripheralvision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary: Salary based on Board approved salary schedule.
