Job summary

Muskegon Public Schools is seeking a CTE Instructor – Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing to deliver a state‑aligned, hands‑on curriculum for 10 months per year. The role blends classroom theory with labs, guiding students toward industry credentials and post‑secondary opportunities.

The instructor will develop interdisciplinary projects, co‑design with industry partners, and align curricula with Career Ready Practices and state standards to support student success and workforce readiness.

Qualifications

• Valid MI ESEA/CTE authorization or ability to obtain within district timelines.
• Experience aligning curriculum with state requirements and Career Ready Practices.
• Ability to develop competency-based technical education curriculum.
• Experience engaging industry partners to inform curricula and client projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement interdisciplinary projects solving industry problems with core teachers.
• Co-design curriculum and client projects with industry partners for real-world applications.
• Develop and maintain competency-based CTE curriculum aligned with standards.
• Collaborate with advisory committees to ensure workforce-relevant curriculum.
• Provide instruction to prepare students for industry credentials and career placement.
• Document and communicate student progress using data systems and timely reporting.
• Create work-based learning sites and coordinate mentorships and externships.
• Maintain a safe, compliant learning environment and manage records for compliance.
