Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in Business Education (GX).
• Meets Michigan certification with CTE Endorsement - Business Services and Technology (CIP-52.999) or eligible for Annual Career Authorization.
• Knowledge of Michigan Merit Curriculum/Common Core Standards and Grade Level Content Expectations.
• Competent with technology applications for classroom management and 21st century learning.
• Strong collaboration interests.
• Adept at formative assessment and curricular development.
• Power School experience preferred.
• Student-focused approach.
• Maintains professional standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong technology skills.
• Ability to collaborate with other teachers.
• AP teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a creative, engaging classroom program with high collaboration across students and interdisciplinary, project-based work aligned to standards.
• Build and strengthen a CTE program supporting students' career pathways.
• Integrate educational technologies effectively.
• Use diverse methods to meet individual student needs.
• Demonstrate mastery of subject matter including personal finance and entrepreneurship best practices.
• Provide guidance with Work Experience and collaboration with students/employers.
• Collaborate with administrators and staff to deliver curriculum.
• Assess student progress with formal and informal methods.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction as needed.
• Engage in district professional development and maintain competence.
• Communicate pupil progress with school teams.
• Participate in curriculum development activities.
• Advocate for school and programs; maintain public-facing communication.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication, including public speaking.
• Build cooperative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and parents.
• Promote high expectations and a caring environment for social, emotional, and academic development.
