Job summary

Lansing School District is seeking a qualified administrator to oversee all CTE programs at Hill Center and related activities, including field trips and work-based learning opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a Michigan teaching certification, a Master’s degree in a related field, extensive teaching and administrative experience, and a proven ability to collaborate with K-12, higher education and business partners to prepare students for future career paths.

Responsibilities

  • Adopt school routines, procedures, and expectations that focus on instructional outcomes and student growth.
  • Provide administrative support to CTE students and staff, ensuring consistent CTE policy implementation.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for daily operation of all CTE programs, activities, field trips, and work-based learning.
  • Ensure CTE programs at Hill Center are rigorous and technologically advanced to promote student achievement.
  • Assist in planning and implementing professional development and CTE initiatives aligned with district goals.
  • Identify, collect and maintain records related to CTE operations including enrollment, discipline, certifications, attendance and grades.
  • Perform classroom walk-throughs and provide teacher feedback.
  • Provide leadership for Hill Center programs to meet state/federal guidelines.
  • Assist in recruiting and employing qualified CTE staff.
  • Support MTSS to help students achieve college and career readiness outcomes.
  • Develop and manage assigned CTE budgets and purchasing procedures.
  • Maintain liaison with partnering CTE programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure
  • Meet or be willing to meet the State School Administrator’s Certification.
  • Possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
  • Meets approval criteria or has current approval as a local CTE Administrator based on requirements established by the Michigan Department of Education and Office of Career and Technical Education.
Education, Training & Experience
  • Master’s degree in Teaching, Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or other CTE relatedfield preferred.
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching experience and two (2) years of administrative experience preferred.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adopt school routines, procedures, and expectations that create an environment focused on instructional outcomes and student growth.
  • Provide administrative support to CTE students and staff, ensuring the consistent implementation of CTEpolicies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the daily operation of all CTE programs, related activities, fieldtrips, and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Ensure that CTE programs delivered at the Hill Center are rigorous, relevant, technologically advanced andeffective in promoting student achievement and preparing students for future employment, training,and/or higher education.
  • Assists in planning, developing and implementing professional development activities and CTE initiativeswhich are in alignment with the goals and strategies of the district’s strategic plan and the CTE AdvisoryCommittee(s).
  • Identify, collect and maintain records, documents, data and information related to the operation of CTEprograms, including student enrollment, student discipline, certifications, student attendance and gradesas required or requested.
  • Perform regular classroom walk-throughs and provide teacher feedback in accordance with theappropriate staff performance evaluation system.
  • Provide technical assistance, leadership and coordination for all Hill Center programs to meet state and/orfederal guidelines/requirements.
  • Assist in the district’s selection and hiring processes to recruit and employ qualified CTE staff.
  • Provide support and leadership to assigned CTE staff with implementation of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to assist all students in attaining college and career readiness outcomes.
  • Develop, implement and manage assigned CTE budgets and purchasing procedures for CTE programs.
  • Maintain communicate and be the liaison to partnering CTE programs: Eaton RESA’s Career Preparation Center and Ingham ISD’s Wilson Talent Center
  • Other duties as assigned.

$116,326.32 - $116,326.32 a year
