Methuen High School is seeking a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department Chairperson to oversee curriculum development, supervision of staff, and program implementation for grades 9–12. The role reports to the Methuen High School Principal and leads department budgeting, scheduling, and professional development.

The Chairperson will supervise curriculum design, coordinate PAC efforts, ensure compliance with Chapter 74 programs, and foster partnerships with MassHire and workforce

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible to hold a Massachusetts teaching license in the relevant discipline and a supervisory certificate.
• Hold a master's degree or higher from an accredited institution in the discipline or in administration/supervision.
• Demonstrate knowledge of modern comprehensive high school philosophy, curriculum theory and design, and the supervision of professional staff.
• Show evidence of a continuing interest in professional and personal self-improvement.
• Have satisfactory teaching experience—preferably a minimum of five years at the secondary level and in a vocational setting.

Responsabilités

• Serves as evaluator for all teachers in the department.
• Supervises curriculum development, instruction, and classroom management in the department.
• Oversees instructional planning and assessment to maximize student achievement.
• Prepares the department budget and accounts for departmental fundraising activities.
• Advises the principal on teacher assignments and scheduling.
• Leads departmental meetings and collaborates on program development and compliance.
