Job summary

Innovation Charter High School seeks a CTE Culinary Arts Teacher & Work-Based Learning Coordinator to lead the Culinary Arts CTE program, delivering engaging instruction in culinary, baking, and pastry arts while maintaining program standards. The teacher will create an inclusive learning environment where all students can develop technical skills, professionalism, and career readiness.

Qualifications

• New York State CTE certification required for Culinary Arts (Grades 7–12).
• WBL extension or active pathway toward certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry Arts, Hospitality Management, Education, or related field.
• Professional experience in Culinary Arts, food service, hospitality, or related industry.
• ServSafe certification and/or NYC Food Protection certification.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and culinary equipment.
• Commitment to a safe, inclusive, rigorous, student-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous hands-on Culinary Arts instruction, including fundamentals, baking, pastry arts, and kitchen labs.
• Maintain program standards, equipment, materials, and inventory; ensure safety compliance.
• Lead Work-Based Learning and career readiness; build partnerships with employers and community organizations; coordinate internships.
• Maintain accurate WBL records and compliance with CTE requirements; monitor student progress.
• Foster collaborative adult culture; coach, reflect, and support colleagues.
