Job summary

UCHealth is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT to join the UCHlth Rad CAT Scan team in Aurora. The role performs CT imaging, reviews orders, educates patients, and ensures safety and quality in imaging examinations.

You will administer contrast when required, monitor patient condition, and maintain equipment, while adhering to ARRT CT registry requirements and local licensure. This on-site, full-time position includes a travel stipend option and a competitive pay package.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist with ARRT CT registry or registry eligible.
  • State licensure as required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history, physician orders, and schedules procedures.
  • Educates patients about procedures, equipment, and exam expectations.
  • Administers contrast media and/or medications as ordered within scope.
  • Monitors patient condition and responds to changes as needed.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies for procedures.
  • Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Ensures safety standards and performs quality control on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and reports issues.
  • Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results, addresses image quality issues, and reimages if needed.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

Location: UCHealth UCHlth Anschutz Inpt Pavilion, US:CO:Aurora
Department: UCHlth Rad CAT Scan
Work Schedule: Full Time, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $36.00 per hour plus travel package/stipend
LOCAL Traveler contract options available for those who reside within 75 miles
13 week assignments available

Summary

Provides computed tomography imaging and diagnostic imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibility
  • Reviews patient history, physician's orders and does scheduling.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including re-positioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Minimum Requirements
  • One year of experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and registered, and or registry eligible with completion of registry in 12 months in computed tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • State licensure if required by law.
  • State licensure if required by law.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
