Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to produce high quality diagnostic CT images for patients of all ages using the CT scanner and related equipment.

The position is part time with 8-hour shifts and will cover XR and CT at Springboro, Centerville, Beavercreek, Huber, Troy, Springfield and Main Campus.

Must hold an Ohio Radiologic License, ARRT certification in Radiography, CPR, and an Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology; an ARRT CT credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• - HSD/GED is required.
• - Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology/Sciences is required.
• - Radiologic License - Ohio Department of Health is required.
• - ARRT in Radiography is required; ARRT CT credential preferred.
• - CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Produce quality diagnostic CT images for patients of all ages using the CT scanner and related equipment.
• Communicate procedures and safety information to patients and families.
• Assist in contrast administration and documentation per policy.
• Maintain CPR, licensure, and ARRT certification up to date.
• Collaborate with radiology staff across locations to ensure smooth patient flow.

Job Details:

A staff level position requiring the Computerized Tomography Technologist to produce quality diagnostic images on patients of all ages using the CT scanner and associated equipment for imaging and image manipulation. Tasks are performed with minimal supervision and with strict adherence to quality parameters as determined by the department. Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed independent practitioner in the completion of radiographic procedures. Technologists prepare, administer, and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy. Technologists educate patients and their parents regarding procedures performed and safety within the CT department. Technologists are responsible in part for performance of the organization's systems and processes while continuing to recognize the importance of the individual competence of staff. Technologists are responsible for maintaining CPR certification, Ohio Licensure, and ARRT registration, in addition to participation in hospital wide mandatory education. The CT technologist recognizes and advocates for each patient being an individual with unique healthcare needs and provides considerate, respectful care affirming the patient's right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care. The CT technologist works with radiology staff and other departments to provide a smooth continuum of care for individual patients. Works with student technologists to assure a positive learning experience while on clinical rotations at the hospital.

• This will cover XR and CT shifts at our Outpatient locations and Main Campus - Locations include Springboro, Centerville, Beavercreek, Huber, Troy, Springfield and Main Campus.
• Must be willing to cover all locations - Main, South and Off-sites.
• XR at all locations. CT at Springboro and Main Campus.

Education:

• HSD/GED is required
• Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology/Sciences is required

Certification/Licensure:

• Radiologic License - Ohio Department of Health is required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography is required
• Advanced registry with ARRT in Computed Tomography preferred
• CPR is required
