Responsibilities

Tasks are performed with minimal supervision and with strict adherence to quality parameters as determined by the department. Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed independent practitioner in the completion of radiographic procedures. Technologists prepare, administer, and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy. Technologists educate patients and their parents regarding procedures performed and safety within the CT department. Technologists are responsible in part for performance of the organization’s systems and processes while continuing to recognize the importance of the individual competence of staff. Technologists are responsible for maintaining CPR certification, Ohio Licensure, and ARRT registration, in addition to participation in hospital wide mandatory education. The CT technologist recognizes and advocates for each patient being an individual with unique healthcare needs and provides considerate, respectful care affirming the patient’s right to make decisions regarding his/her medical care. The CT technologist works with radiology staff and other departments to provide a smooth continuum of care for individual patients.
