Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current certification and registration appropriate to the position and applicable state requirements.
• CT certification or eligibility for CT certification, as required by the organization.
• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain as required.
• Previous experience performing both X-ray and CT procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergent diagnostic radiographic examinations using fixed and portable X-ray equipment.
• Perform routine and emergent CT examinations according to established protocols and radiologist direction.
• Select and adjust exposure factors to ensure optimal image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
• Properly position patients based on the examination and anatomical structures to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure and promote patient safety.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and effectively following department procedures.
• Process, verify, and transmit images through PACS for radiologist interpretation.
• Complete examinations according to radiologist protocols and department standards.
• Document procedures, charges, and patient information in the EMR.
• Schedule patients for imaging and diagnostic services including X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, DXA, and Holter monitoring.
• Provide patient education related to contrast media administration for CT within scope and protocols.
