Job summary

MRH is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services using X-ray, fluoroscopy, and OR with C-arm. You will verify orders, identify patients, obtain consent, document history, and bill for procedures. You must maintain ALARA safety, operate equipment per manufacturer specs, and cross-train in other modalities.

Day shift, on-site at Colorado clinic, requires ARRT(R), BLS, and graduate from accredited program; supports teamwork, documentation in EHR, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures including X-ray/fluoroscopy with C-arm and OR work.
• Verifies exam orders and identifies patient using two identifiers; provides exam education.
• Maintains accurate patient records in EHR and documents charges for procedures and supplies.
• Assists with clerical duties and cross-trains imaging staff as directed.
• Assists with infection control, safety, and risk management procedures.

Job description

Summary

To provide diagnostic imaging services to patients using various imaging modalities, ensuring accurate image acquisition, patient safety, and optimal patient care. Prioritize patient education, explaining procedures, equipment, and optimal patient care.

Position-Specific Performance Expectations, Duties, and Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced knowledge in radiographic procedures, including, but not limited to X-ray and Fluoroscopy, with C-arm, and OR work.
• Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or protocols the exam with the Radiologist.
• Practices radiation safety, adhering to ALARA standards.
• Ability to operate equipment consistent with manufacturer's recommendations.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and independently calls a service engineer if the malfunction needs outside maintenance.
• Verifies exam orders, identifies the patient through two means of identification, and provides exam education.
• Reviews and documents the patient's medical history, obtains required informed consent, and ensures all necessary paperwork and prior studies are complete and available before submitting procedures for Radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains accurate patient records in EHR, including charging for procedures and supplies.
• May be required to perform other functions within the clinic. Any additional training required will be provided.
• Demonstrates flexibility by assisting in other modalities, adjusting schedules, and taking call, overtime, or holiday shifts as needed.
• Obtains additional training or certification as required.
• Assists with clerical duties, phone reception, and patient transportation when required.
• Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed.
• Must be self-motivated, use independent judgment, and be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Orders, stocks, and maintains supply inventory. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensure(s), and Certification(s)

• Required Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
• ARRT registration in Radiology (R).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 90 days of hire or transfer).

Experience

• Preferred Prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist.
• Cross-trained into other modalities, including, but not limited to: CT, MRI, DEXA, and Mammography.
• Experience with electronic records, including PACS and RIS/HIS.
