Qualifications

They independently operate or assist licensed practitioners, preparing and documenting activities related to medications and radiation exposure in compliance with laws and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct orders, ensure patient identification and preparation, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety and quality imaging.
• Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data storage or transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with interventional procedures, and perform prescribed CT scans.

Work is performed in a clinical setting, requiring compliance with policies. Certification by ARRT or NMTCB is required upon hire, with new graduates needing certification before employment. Continued certification advancement is expected within 24 months for some hires.
