Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT scans with a focus on patient comfort and safety. You will prepare patients, administer contrast, and collaborate with radiologists to support accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an ARRT accredited program preferred.
• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• BLS certification required at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT imaging with quality, ensuring patient safety and proper data.
• Position patients and manage contrast administration per protocol.
• Assist radiologist during procedures and biopsies as needed.
• Maintain CT IT systems knowledge (PACS, Radiant).
• participate in on-call rotation.

CT Technologist - The Jewish Hospital

Job SummaryThe CT Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment in a way that provides direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner. The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.

Essential Functions

• Assures the quality of all images and confirms that all pertinent patient/procedural data is correct.
• Performs computed tomography procedures.
• Performs timeout as required per policy.
• Properly positions patients on CT scanning cradles and properly immobilizes patients with appropriate devices to obtain desired position.
• Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per physician request and patient history.
• Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of use and care of existing IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
• Assists the radiologist with biopsies, drainage procedures, etc. utilizing sterile techniques, exhibiting safe and effective use of all contrast and radiation materials.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
• Participates in on call rotation as required.

Education

• Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)

Required Licensing & Certifications

• BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
• Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within two years)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)

Experience

• 1 year of experience as CT or Rad Tech (preferred)
